This owner knew he wanted a geourgeous cherry glazed perimeter but he also wanted something that reminded him of 'grandma's kithcen period' thats where the red painted island with black glaze and butcher block top came in.  In addition, on the other side of the room, he needed cabinetry for three functions.  Durring the day, it's a desk with hidden files, fax and printer.  During cooking time, its entertianment with a flat screen TV.   And at night its a bar and buffet.
